Floor Tile Selection Guide — Everything You Need Before Buying
Floor tiles are the most impactful decision on the overall look of a home — and also a decision that is difficult to change later. Therefore, before you choose, understanding the fundamental differences between the available options will save you a lot of time and money.
Step One: Determine the Type of Use
Before choosing the shape and color, ask yourself: Exactly where will these tiles be installed?
| Location | Required Specification | Best Option |
|---|---|---|
| Main Living Room | High scratch resistance, elegant appearance | Porcelain 80x80 or 60x120 |
| Kitchen | Grease and stain resistant, easy to clean | Matte anti-slip porcelain |
| Bedroom | Warm, visually calm, soft | Wood-look porcelain or ceramic |
| Hallway and Entrance | Very high resistance, easy to clean | Dark porcelain or natural stone |
| Garden and Outdoor | Resistant to heat, humidity, and slipping | Outdoor porcelain R11+ or granite |
Choosing the Size: How it Affects the Look of the Space?
Size is not just a number — it has a significant visual impact on the feel of the room:
- Small sizes (30x30, 45x45) — create a warm and cozy feel, suitable for small spaces and bathrooms
- Medium sizes (60x60, 75x75) — the most common, suitable for most regular home rooms
- Large sizes (80x80, 60x120, 120x120) — visually expands the space, fewer joints, luxurious appearance — but requires a professional installer
- Slabs (120x240, 160x320) — the most luxurious, used in large living rooms and commercial projects
Important rule: Large sizes reduce waste in regular rectangular areas, but increase waste in areas with many corners. Ask us to calculate the required quantity before ordering.
Choosing Color and Texture
- White and light — visually expands the space, but shows dirt faster
- Gray and medium — the perfect balance between luxury and ease of maintenance
- Dark and black — bold statement, requires strong lighting and sufficient space
- Warm colors (beige, creamy, terracotta) — warm and comfortable, suitable for the classic Saudi style
As for texture:
- Polished — reflects light and looks luxurious, but shows scratches and stains
- Matt/Honed — more practical, hides scratches, suitable for any place
- Structured (stone or wood texture) — safer from slipping, ideal for kitchens and hallways

How to Calculate the Required Quantity?
The simple formula: Room area (m²) × 1.10 — The 10% increase is for waste, breakage, and contingency.
Example: A 5 × 4 m room = 20 m² × 1.10 = 22 m² is the correct quantity to order.
Tip: Always order from the same Batch/Lot Number to ensure color matching between boxes. Colors may vary slightly between different production batches.
